If not ‘Hrithik Roshan’ then who is cast for Fast and Furious 7?

Rumour volcanos were set ablaze with news that Hrithik Roshan is to be cast in Fast & Furious 7. The actor was seen enjoying a meal with the ‘Fast & Furious’ series director Rob Cohen. The tabloid known for its quick assumption skills, jumped to the conclusion that the Bollywood heartthrob was about to be part of the famous action film series.

The actor’s father, veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan denied these reports as he said, “Sometimes the media knows things about us that we don’t. It’s easy to calculate and say Hrithik met Rob Cohen. And since Rob is known for the Fast & Furious series they’re doing an action film together. But no such thing is happening. Rob is a friend and we met just for a meal.” He also added, “We’ve known Rob from the time when we did Kites. Rob is a big fan of Hrithik Roshan. It’s true he wants to make a film with Hrithik. But there’s no project at the moment.”

Earlier reports linked Sonam Kapoor, Chitrangada Singh and Deepika Padukone to ‘Fast & Furious 7’. Later it was said that Deepika Padukone finally bagged the role. This news was ousted as Deepika allegedly opted out of the film due to her busy schedule and date issues. Now, we are pleased to know that the film finally has an Indian actor in it; no it’s not Hrithik.

We may not see Hrithik, but Bollywood still manages to make an appearance in the movie with Fukrey star Ali Fazal. According to a report the 26 year old actor has already completed filming for his part in the movie with celebrated Hollywood actor Vin Diesel. In this movie, Ali Fazal plays the role of a tycoon and seems very excited about the same. The actor however makes it clear as he stresses on the part that it is only a cameo.

We have witnessed quite a few Bollywood stars make their way into the razzle and dazzle of Hollywood. The ever gorgeous Aishwariya Rai starred in a number of international projects including ‘Pink Panther 2’ opposite actor and comedian, Steve Martin. Mallika Sherawat had the opportunity to work with Jackie Chan in ‘The Myth’. Veteran actor Amrish Puri also starred in the 1984 movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’. It is nice to see our much loved Bollywood stars leave traces of Indian talent internationally.

Coming back to Hrithik Roshan, the actor who was recently in the news for his split with wife Susanne has repeatedly turned down all opportunities to be a part of Hollywood. The actor reportedly refused Tarsem Singh’s offer of being cast in an international version of Hamlet. Looks like, the star is happy with the Bollywood ‘Krrish’ series of films for now.

We will have to wait and see which of the new Bollywood talents join this bandwagon of stars drifting towards Hollywood, as we cheer in full support!
